American Heist is a 2014 action-crime film starring Hayden Christensen, Adrien Brody, Jordana Brewster, and Akon. Directed by Sarik Andreasyan, the film is a loose remake of the 1959 Steve McQueen classic, The Great St. Louis Bank Robbery, but with a more brutal and emotional modern touch.

The story centers on two brothers: James (Hayden Christensen), a recently released ex-con trying to live an honest life, and Frankie (Adrien Brody), his charismatic but troubled older brother who is in debt to the mafia. When Frankie forces James to participate in one "last job" — robbing a major bank in New Orleans — everything goes wrong. The plan that was supposed to be smooth turns into a massive shootout with the police, betrayal, and lives on the line.
