Our Lady of Port Richmond Regional School was established in September 2008 by the merger of Nativity B.V.M, Our Lady Help of Christians, and St. Adalbert. Each of the predecessor faculties had enrollments of about 200. The 2008 economic downturn prompted the schools to merge. The Richmond is home to San Francisco Unified School District elementary, center and high colleges. Town is house to the David Dunlap Observatory telescope, the most important telescope in Canada.
